As the name suggests, Bannock serves food with a nod to traditional Canadian fare. Even their wine and beer list focuses mainly on home-grown options. At the corner of Queen and Bay, Bannock is a great option for a fast business lunch or a speedy refuel while shopping. I was in a bit of a rush during my visit and my meal was quick to arrive. There are take-away options as well.

There are two entrances to Bannock, only one of which is accessible. If you enter off Bay St. there's an automatic door opener and 38 inch doorway that's level with the sidewalk. According to my waitress the restaurant is also accessible from the underground PATH. The front of the building was under construction during my visit, but the sidewalks were wide and well-maintained so it doesn't seem to pose any barriers.

Bannock is one level with even floors throughout. One of the dining areas has a large low-pile carpet but the edges are smooth and flat to the ground. The majority of tables are standard 29 inch height and have removable chairs. Some of the tables in the center of the room seem a little tight on space, so requesting one of the many outer tables might be your best option.

The washroom is an individual unisex stall with a 35 inch wide door. The only downside of this washroom is the lack of grab bars. However, the sink has plenty of leg room and sits 29 inches off the ground. Toilet paper, soap and hand dryer are within easy reach.

Across the street and beneath Nathan Phillips Square is the closest Green P parking. Queen subway station is accessible and about a block away.
