R&D is the result of MasterChef Canada winner Eric Chong's collaboration with MasterChef Canada judge Alvin Leung. The decor inside this airy space does not disappoint, nor does the accessibility.

The front entrance is level with the sidewalk out front, and includes an automatic opener. The double doors measure 36 inches each for a total opening of 72 inches. Inside the entrance you will find a small staircase paired with a large stairlift to take you up to the main eating area. The entrances to the stairlift each measure 46.5 inches, and staff are happy to assist with operation of the device.

Upstairs, the floors are smooth wood throughout and there are multiple seating options available. There are lower, 27 inch high tables with removable chairs, as well as many standard height, 29 inch tables also with removable chairs. The space was bright and well-lit during my visit, although it was a sunny afternoon at the time and nighttime visits could be slightly darker.

Washrooms are located down a 43 inch wide hallway. The doorway to the accessible washroom is 36 inches wide. There aren't any automatic features in the washroom, but there are 2 grab bars surrounding the toilet along with a sink that sits 30 inches off the ground and 40 inches of space widthwise.

In terms of parking near R&D, there is plenty of paid street parking on surrounding roads, as well as multiple Green P parking lots. The closest are at 40 Larch St. or 180 Spadina Ave. If you're taking TTC, Osgoode Station is about 1km away and is an accessible subway station.
