The Roasted Nut
768 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1E9
Call: (416) 546-1935
The Roasted Nut is a unique café offering health-minded snacks that boast big flavour. Take your pick from the establishment’s extensive nut (and nut-adjacent) selection: bagel-spiced cashews, a build-your-own chia pudding bowl or a jar of freshly made nut butter (we’re partial to the vegan chocolate pistachio flavour). With its cozy, but brightly lit seating area, you can nosh on their in-house array of over 20 rotating nuts and other menu items.
Located on bustling Queen Street West just one block east of Trinity-Bellwoods Park, the Roasted Nut is close to two accessible 501 Queen streetcar stops: both Claremont Street and Strachan Avenue. If driving, there is street parking along Queen Street during most times, as well as spots on Bellwoods Avenue.
The entrance door is automatically and manually equipped with a portable StopGap ramp to enter. The incline may be a little steep, but the friendly staff are willing to assist and do so for customers regularly. Once you enter the airy space which can accommodate a stroller or mobility device, you are met with more than 105” of turning space near the ordering counter, and smooth, tile throughout. Their menu is clear and easy to navigate, but if you are stumped on what to try, the staff are happy to direct you to a flavour profile you might enjoy.
Along the back of the café is a private accessible washroom off of a wide hallway. The washroom has an automatic door opener and a lever to open the 36” door. The roomy, 112” x 72” washroom is furnished with an L-shaped bar at the standard 30” height above the ground. The unobstructed sink at 29” high is manual, though the hand dryer is an automatic one with a powerful air stream.
This inviting space, complete with six tables at 29” high, is the perfect spot for a solo midday snack or to catch up with friends over a one-of-a-kind nut experience plus a hot coffee or tea!
