AccessTO wants to thank reader "ML" for another great recommendation! Green Earth Vegetarian Cuisine is a welcome addition to the blog as we always try to bring a variety of locations and cuisines to our followers :)

This 100% vegan restaurant is located in the Riverdale community across the street from the historic Don Jail and newly built Bridgepoint hospital. The location is not on the subway line, but there are plenty of public parking areas in the close vicinity. The main entrance is off a wide, unobstructed sidewalk and there is a slight incline to the front door. The main door measures 34 inches wide, but once indoors you will need to make a slight left turn to enter through a second 35 inch entrance. There is no automatic door opener.

Indoors the place is simply decorated with a focus on the delicious organic food. There are 9 standard height (29 inches) tables which are easily moved and re-figured. There is a clear passageway to the single accessible washroom at the back. Although it says "ladies", the room can be used by anyone. The space includes 2 grab bars, an automatic hand dryer and a wide 34 inch entrance.

Green Earth is closed Tuesdays and offers delicious take-out, including a whole "Turkey" dinner for the holidays. Anyone else know of other vegetarian/vegan accessible restaurants in Toronto?
