Vagabondo- CLOSED
32 Wellington Street East, Toronto, ON, M5E 1C6
Vagabondo is a spacious restaurant and lounge offering authentic Italian cuisine and daily drink specials in the heart of downtown Toronto. If you work in the area, stop by for Vagabondo’s weekday lunch express, which features dishes such as homemade lasagna and chicken parmigiana for only $6!
Vagabondo is easily accessible through its barrier free front entrance on Wellington Street East. The entrance has two sets of double doors, each individual door measuring 35.5 inches in width, with no level changes. There is one removable carpet located at the front entrance. The dining area features standard height tables with removable chairs and booth seating. The pathways are unobstructed and there is ample room to maneuver.
The accessible washroom is located at the back of the restaurant and measures 72 inches by 91 inches. The door is 35 inches wide and has both a knob and lever handle, but at the time of visit only the knob handle was working to open the door. The washroom features an automatic tap and soap dispenser and a paper towel dispenser that is easily accessible. There are two grab bars surrounding the toilet. The sink measures 29 inches in height, with clear space underneath.
The restaurant’s lighting is a little bit dim, so if you are looking for a more well lit space, request to sit in the front seating area where there is natural light through large windows. Vagabond offers lunch, dinner, and drink menus, which all feature good contrast and readable font size. At the time of visiting, the music was kept fairly low in volume, but when planning your visit it is important to keep in mind that a live DJ performs every Thursday to Saturday evenings from 6pm onwards.
The closest accessible subway station is Queen, which is approximately 700m north of Vagabondo on Yonge Street. Vagabondo can also be easily reached using the accessible King streetcar and you would be getting out at either Yonge Street or Church Street. If arriving by car, there is an underground Green P parking lot located south of the restaurant at 2 Church Street. There are gradual curb cuts at the intersection of Wellington and Leader Lane and the sidewalk in front of the restaurant was free of barriers.
