A place for those who want to pause for breath on the way home from work in Toronto’s busiest commuter hub. Located on the lower level of the west wing of Union Station at the corner of York and Front Street, this open concept restaurant offers coffees and baked goods, as well as handmade pastas and salads. Its pastas made fresh daily with contemporary Canadian influences have helped Amano Pasta move to the top spot on BlogTO’s Top 10 Restaurants near the Sony Centre in Toronto.

The large main entrance is barrier free without any threshold and doors. For takeout or coffees, you can direct your attention towards the counter near the front entrance which has large menu boards behind it. Enjoy it to go or take a seat at one of the small bar tables. Should you decide to dine-in you will be greeted at the hostess stand - this table can be moved to increase the width of the path into the dining room if needed. Inside the dining area there is a mix of standard height tables with removable chairs and bar height tables with stools.

The spacious accessible washroom is located at the back of dining area. The door is 37.5 inches wide and opens inward using either the lever handle or automatic door button. The automatic sink measures 29 inches in height with clear space underneath. There are two grab bars, one horizontal and one L-shaped, surrounding the toilet.

All black and white menus offer good contrast, though note that some of the descriptions on the menu are in smaller cursive writing. The dine-in menu is also available online. As for online order for takeout, it is available via Ritual. The lighting in the evening time was slightly dim at the time of visit, but friendly and attentive staff are willing to provide any assistance.

The restaurant’s is very accessible by public transport - only a short walk from Union Station! The building is well equipped with accommodations like ramps, elevators, and even bicycle parking stations. If thinking of driving, there are a number of public parking garages near Union Station. Among them, an accessible parking lot is located at Citigroup Place, which is a block away from the restaurant.
