ArteGelato Caffe

ArteGelato Caffe was a pleasant surprise for me in more ways than one. I almost walked past it because there's a step out front, but the side door (on Delaware Ave.) is completely accessible. Once I discovered the side door I was sold based on the gelato alone, but then I realized that this place has tons more to offer! They have lots of great food options on their menu as well, from pizza to pasta to panini. Definitely more than just gelato!

The side door is 37 inches wide and has an automatic opener. There's a slight decline in the pavement as you head towards the door but the door itself is at grade. Once you're inside the restaurant there's a wide pathway leading you to the cash register - and the all-important gelato display case! The floor is smooth tile with no level changes. Tables are standard height at 29 inches and all chairs are removable.

An accessible washroom stall is located at the back of the restaurant.

The door is 37 inches wide without an automatic opener. The room itself is very spacious, and has a grab bar located beside the toilet. Soap and paper towels are within easy reach, and the sink is 28 inches off the ground. Don't forget to ask for the bathroom key! Staff are happy to provide it.

The patio is another selling feature of Arte Gelato. It's on the east side of the building and has plenty of room to move around. There are three gates that can be used to access the patio, all of which are very wide at 47 inches. Tables are the same standard height as inside the restaurant, and all chairs are removable. The sidewalks surrounding the restaurant are fairly wide and well maintained as well.

Unfortunately the closest subway stop - Ossington - isn't accessible. The closest accessible stop is Bathurst, which is about 1.5km to the East. There's street parking on Delaware Ave. and lots of the surrounding streets, and Green P parking is available fairly close by at 745 Ossington Ave.
