Motorino Citta is a casual, modern Italian eatery and the first location in the Motorino family of restaurants to venture south of Bloor Street into downtown Toronto. They have a mouth-watering menu, including a variety of wood fire pizzas and other delicious entrées. This is also a great spot to stop in for a drink or to host a private event!
You can travel there easily by transit with the accessible 504 King Streetcar, which stops at Ontario Street. This is one block directly south of the restaurant, located right on Adelaide. There is also underground public parking available with accessible spots and elevator access with the entrance just around the corner on Gendron Lane.
Leading up to the entrance is a large open area that is level interlocking brick all the way to the front door, which is primed to become a great patio location come summertime. The door itself is 35” wide with no threshold and an automatic door button to operate. Once inside, you are directed left by a short barrier separating the front door from the dining room. This area is plenty wide for getting through and allowing turning space, but does not offer enough space to leave accessible devices at the entrance. For this, we would recommend speaking with the staff, which we found were all very approachable and happy to help.
Inside the restaurant, it is all smooth flooring with no level changes. There are mostly wide paths in between the tables. There are a few aisles that may require the chairs to be tucked in for some people, but these can also be avoided if necessary. You can find a place at their standard 29” high tables, bar height tables or even post up at the bar itself, whatever suits you best.
There are excellent washroom facilities with a large private, accessible space. The door is 37” wide and has lever handles or automatic buttons to operate. The toilet is a manual flush and has grab bars behind and beside it. There is a floating sink which has 29” clearance from the bottom. The sink has twist knobs to operate the tap and the soap and paper towel dispensers are manual as well.
The space is very well lit and the music is kept at a low volume for easy conversation. The menu has a good size of print and contrast for reading. The vivid red decor inside the restaurant will definitely catch your attention and did you know that it’ s also known to boost your appetite? Science says so. Take a trip down to Motorino Citta and see if it has the desired effect on you.
