Scotland Yard Pub
56 The Esplanade, Toronto, ON M5E 1A6
Scotland Yard is a traditional English-style pub that has been serving its community for over 40 years. The pub is well known for its comfortable environment for guests to relax and enjoy a wide selection of draft beers as well as their homemade dishes that are made from locally sourced produces. The pub offers house darts free of charge whether you are a veteran or a beginner player. Scotland Yard Pub is known as the official home of Toronto Spurs, where members of the Supporters Club of Tottenham Hotspur gather to watch the games live.
The main entrance has two sets of doors, meaning that guests will have to open another door in order to get into the Pub after opening the first door. Each door is 36.2 inches (92 cm) wide but, unfortunately, does not have an automatic door opener system. Entering the pub, the first thing guests will see is the bar counter table, which is 46.4 inches high (118cm) from the ground, with non-adjustable wooden stools with back support. However, the majority of the pub consists of regular table seats, including some tables with couches, with open spaces across the dining area in between each table without any level changes, where the height of the regular tables is a standard 29 inches (74 cm) from the ground.
The washroom is located on the far-left side of the pub from the main entrance. Although the washrooms aren’t as big as a large private one, they do have an accessible washroom stall along . The door of the accessible washroom is 35.8 inches wide (91 cm), and its dimensions are 57 inches (145 cm) wide and 56.3 inches (143 cm) long.
As Union station is nearby, approximately 11 minutes travel distance, you can travel to the pub with relative ease. For those driving, there is also a large Green Parking area located at 2 Church Street, which is only 2 minutes away from the pub.
Scotland Yard is a pub filled with a vibrant atmosphere, from the friendly and outgoing bartenders and staff to the interior décor that resembles the traditional western Pub with a modern touch. The menu is easy to read, as each word is written in large font, and a bigger version of the menu is also available in front of the entrance on most days. The Pub also offers a special discount every Thursday.
